YouTube announces 1080p Streaming!

Google has announced that starting next week, they will switch on 1080p support for YouTube!

Edit: The sample video uses about 70-80% of my CPU. Once it's finished it drops down to 2-10%.

I wish my internet was that fast.

But then again, I wouldn't need internet that fast for anything else, though. I'm not much of a gamer, and I usually let any large downloads that I'm doing run overnight or while I'm at school.

I live in India. This is my university connection. I live inside the university. We have 24hrs access to it.

We have 3 connections 60mbps, 100mbps and 1gbps connections

General browsing I use 60 and 100 connections and when downloading i use the 1gbps connection.

Is there a reason why you guys have three different speeds of connections? And wouldn't everyone just want to use the faster one?

Core 2 Duo E4600 @ 2.4GHz. Also, I have a 6MB/s connection, and the video buffers at exactly the same speed as it plays.

That would explain it. Crazy stuff you guys have going there. The network must be pretty well built in that case too.

Yup. You are right. The network is built in such a way that they can monitor any one and we have some restrictions too in using it.
