    Perl version on free host?

Got sidetracked by other concerns and today just logging in to keep my account active. Out of curiosity I checked on this thread and was surprised to see five new posts. Had no idea there were some others interested in or knowledgable about Perl. Anyhow, garrett, I only just now saw the second...

    Perl version on free host?

Thanks garrett. Seems I read somewhere that we don't have shell access to the X10 environment. I wonder if that is why this script does not work. In other words, whether the server reads the script as somehow equivalent to using the command line.

    Perl version?

Thanks, Mitch, but not quite what I am looking for. Was looking for the info you get when you install Perl locally and type "perl -v" from the command line. Took this discussion over to the programming forum at http://forums.x10hosting.com/programming-help/96416-perl-version-free-host.html My...

    Perl version on free host?

Hey garrettroyce. I copied and pasted the code you found into a blank text file and saved it as "perlv.pl" in the cgi-bin dir of the apache server on my development box. I typed: "localhost/cgi-bin/perlv.pl" into the address bar and got the same message I get when I type "perl -v" on the...

    Perl version on free host?

I posted this question in the free hosting forum, and evidently there are no Perl programmers online just now. Or something. Anyhow, I want to write some CGI scripts in Perl on my local machine for development before I upload to the X10 server. To get my local environment set up, I would like...

    Perl version?

I am wanting to set up a server on a local machine that more or less replicates the X10 environment, so that I can develop locally before uploading to X10. CPanel used to display the installed version of Perl. I managed to find a link that displays the installed modules, but nothing that shows...

!!!! The NEW Biggest thread !!!!

I submitted a request today. The instructions could be a bit clearer, I think. On one page it says you can request that your account be unsuspended, then elsewhere says that if that doesn't work, submit a ticket. I got no idea which it was that I did, because the labels don't really match the...
