Is there a free service for IMing?

For Internet browsing, I've used ebuddy.com in the past. Works on PSPs and any other device quite well.

Don't most phones come integrated with IM? I know my phone has a place where I can sign in to AIM.

Now that I think of it, I think the only way you can logically use it if you have unlimited texting, because each instant message counts as a text, not a part of the data plan.

eBuddy has a java applet you can use on your phone as well. Instead of using the website version.

Yeah and for those on the iPhone like myself eBuddy has an app that will even push messages to the phone for up to 30 minutes after you close the app.

Sorry to come out of nowhere...but...

anyone know of a way to get free text messaging on your phone?
how to go about, opening your own text messaging corp...?
