I have come across this chat program for Joomla/Community Builder called 'FreiChat'. Here are the details.

freichat! is a really cool extension that will integrate Facebook & Gmail like chat into Joomla-CB
The extension includes
a chat component
a chat module
Features:
Easy installation with community builder
Avatar support
facebook like chatbar
Minimize and close chat boxes
Able to chat even while you browse different pages.
Option for username or nickname
smiley support(BBcode similar to kunena)
url to clickable url support
support for wordwrap
single css file for both(chatbar n chatbox)!
Requirements:
Joomla 1.5 with CB
Connections must be enabled in CB
Users must be connected to chat
