Is this a legit. x10hosting e-mail or spam?

But instructions are very confusing: This was sent on Sept 25th, wants to hear from me by August 23rd and then states that if nothing is received before Oct 1 the choice will be made for me. In addition, there is no place to go that offers any clues as to what I actually NEED to do: The...

Is this a legit. x10hosting e-mail or spam?

I just got the e-mail below ("To:" field blanked to avoid further spamming from here) and was wondering if it is genuine (I have found no other reference to the subdomain change in the forum or the link http://x10hosting.com/portal/?support supplied): From: Bryon E...

    Who gets credit for this?

I guess the correct term used was "credits", but seeing that this page (which seemed to exist in February of this year) http://x10hosting.com/forums/rewards.php does not exist anymore, I assume the idea has been abandoned. I would like to pass on some of my credits, if possible, to whoever...

    Who gets credit for this?

There used to be a system of exchanging some sort of "brownie points" for recognizing work others have done that you appreciate. The forum format has changed enough since last I participated in that kind of acitivity that I am unable to locate how to give whoever might be responsible for this...

I am so glad to see my cgi page-hit counter is finally working again

In June last year I first noticed the cigi counter I have at the bottom of http://dreyer.x10hosting.com/ was not working and tried to get it fixed in these three different threads: http://x10hosting.com/forums/free-hosting/126303-cgi-web-page-hit-counter-stopped-working.html...

A new attempt to get web-site counter to work

Now message is back to "Could not write to counter file: /var/cpanel/counters/gurfle.dat" So file exists and cgi script must be working, but can't someone set the permission of this file somehow to allow it to be overwritten by anyone accessing my web page?

A new attempt to get web-site counter to work

The broken image problem has been solved. Instead the message in the counter box has changed from "Could no write to counter file: /var/cpanel/counters/gurfle.dat" to "Counter datafile /var/cpanel/Counters/gurfler.dat must be created in cPanel first" (as you should see if you go to...

A new attempt to get web-site counter to work

Thanks for checking. Since I posted it appears that something has changed so that, as you say, there is now a broken image rather than the message. Probably as a result of someone (Corey?) working on the issue. It sounds from what Corey says that this cgi script approach will not work...

A new attempt to get web-site counter to work

I suspect this post (http://x10hosting.com/forums/free-hosting/128651-still-trying-get-web-site-counter-work.html) got buried because of the huge effort in dealing with the latest conversion, so I am starting it up again, now that things seemed to have stabilzed a bit. Some partial, but...

Still trying to get web-site counter to work

This is one more attempt to get a bit more of a conclusion to a question to which some partial answers are found in this post "http://x10hosting.com/forums/free-hosting/126303-cgi-web-page-hit-counter-stopped-working.html". It appears that /cgi-sys/Count.cgi is a valid reference on my web page...

cgi web page hit counter stopped working

Sorry, I've been tied up and have not had a chance to return and see all the helpful replies I cannot see from cPanel File Manager any folder resembling /var/cpanel/Counters. It looks like /var/cpanel/Counters is some sort of system folder, whereas cPanel File Manager just shows my personal...

cgi web page hit counter stopped working

At the bottom of my web page (http://dreyer.x10hosting.com/) I used to be able to get a hit counter to work using the following html tag: <img src="/cgi-sys/Count.cgi?df=gurfle.dat|display=Counter|ft=3|md=5|frgb=255;255;255|dd=D"> As you see if you point you browser to...

Can't Connect to Web Disk with Nautilus

Same machine (hard-drive, network etc) on Windows XP connects just fine, but booting into Linux (Debian 5.0.1 "Lenny") on a seperate partition and following the instrutions for Nautilus, I keep getting this error: Couldn't display "http://dreyer.x10hosting.com:2077/". The location is not a...

    On those missing Icons again

This proves two things to me: 1) X10 support is responsive 2) Users actively participating can make a difference. I am glad to have found x10 and to be able to help make it better :rant2:

    On those missing Icons again

Less than 24 hours after submitting the trouble ticket on this issue, got it fixed! You'll notice all the icons now showing up where there used to just be the little broken link image. Nice!

    On those missing Icons again

Thanks for the perspective. Well, I'll put in a trouble ticket anyway. Just seems so sloppy to have them all available but not usable, and in spite of low priority, how hard is it to change a few links? Nick

    On those missing Icons again

I spaced out and never returned to the thread I started on this topic: http://forums.x10hosting.com/free-hosting/97298-whhere-post-icons.html From the last post to there by misson , it appears that the icons exist, just at slightly different links, e.g...
