Hi,

Great hosting! But... the problem i can't find my site too often. Today I was logged in for some time (installed mambo) and now since a few minutes i get a browser message dbforum.x10hosting.com not found, check name and try again. This morning (european time) I had the same problem with the forum, but fortunately i could stay logged in since this afternoon. I don't know what's the problem. I think i cannot reach my site and/or the forums for about 50% of the time. And then suddenly it works again and then suddenly I can't get in anymore. Is getting a bit disappointing... :frown:
Hope someone can help me finding out what's wrong

Thanks in advance,

Maarten Storm

If this problem isn't affecting other members then it is most likely a problem on your end. How are you connected to your network/Internet? Wireless? Could your Internet connection be on the fritz (cable, DSL, dial-up)?

I've been having a similar problem. Sometimes I can't get to my site or forums or it loads very slowly. :/

Right now, Its barely loading.

What country are you guys from? I'm trying to narrow down the problem... everyone's DNS settings are the same as everyone elses so it is making it hard...

I'm sure it's aproblem with me, because I didn't find similar threads in this forum.
The strange thing is, I only have it with x10hosting.com. I tried changin from IE to FireFox (thought of that before, but this was a nice occasion ;)), but also Firefox gives the same problem. What really confudes me thats its going up and down. Checked my internet connection with the software the provider gave me (dutch provider casema), couldn't find anything. Could it have to do something with DNS?

Sorry I was just takeing a spabe in the dark. Next time you can't access your site go into the command prompt (start/run type cmd) and type

Code:
ping dbforum.x10hosting.com

then type

Code:
ping 70.85.87.52

Then cut and copy the results into here

(to cut and copy in the command prompt right click the tab on your start bar, click properties, when the properties dialog box comes up goto the edit options and click quick edit. Then click ok, goto the command prompt window highlight everything you want to copy and then right click it. It will be copied to your clipboard and then you could paste it normally here.)

This will help the admins in figureing out if its a DNS issue or not.

It seems your ping reply's are so slow its timing out before it could resolve the address. Now that it is working trying doing a trace route. In the command prompt type
Code:
tracert dbforum.x10hosting.com

I also have experienced this slowness from time to time.It never lasts long for me and once in a while the page fails to load totally.I get no messages or any page at all when it fails.Just says "Done" but im still on the same page and its obvious it failed to follow the clicked link.Doesnt last long enough to be a real problem for me,but i thought id mention it since others have experienced it as well.I will post more info later on if it happens again

Oh yeah, ive noticed that when it gets slow like that the "Server Load" area under the "Server/Service Status" in cpanel reads in the red and around 3.5 or 4.5 load

I can move anyone who is having problems back to the other server.. I'm not sure why it's doing this; Moving solved this problem for someone else though. If you want to move please PM me. Server load 3.5/4.5 shouldn't cause that to happen... especially with dual CPUs.

Yeah,i wouldnt think it should cause that. But it just made me curious as it was in the red instead of green. Its not happening enough for me to want to move to the other server yet though. :teeth_smi

Right now im experiencing the slowness. The load is 4.48 and in the red.Was fine a few moments ago when the load was less than .9

It flucuates a lot, it's just a setting in cPanel when it turns red :), An optimal number is around 1-2 load. With the number though you're supposed to divide it by X amount of CPUs. We have 4 logical CPUs so if you divide it by 4 it's still in the safe zone. Once it starts getting up around 20 (With 4 CPUs) it's time to get a new server :)
