You may have been doing graphics design for a while, but I bet that doesn't top my practice of using photoshop for like 4 hours a day for the past 2 years. Anyways, the gloss still sorta looks dumb, just like Azn Tech guy said, you can't really tell that it's gloss from an untrained eye because,
(1. The top of the gloss shouldn't be so "Hard" I mean think about it if you look at a lot of stuff in real life, like a glass table in an office building, for the most part, the gloss and reflections aren't that "hard"
(2. The gloss isn't fading into Transparency as much as it should be. Try using the gradient tool if you aren't already.
And in my last post, I mean the outer glow and drop shadow on the border/body of your sig looked dumb, you should only use one at a time, either drop shadow only or outer glow only. Also on the text, the bevel+drop shadow+outer glow sorta all "conflicts" with eachother.
