Where did my index page go?

My index.html page has been working for more than a year. All of a sudden, I can't visit that page anymore. Instead, I'm getting a 404 error with ads covering the entire error page.

Does the index.html file still exist in your public_html folder?

Yes.

You may need to manipulate the .htaccess file so web browsers know where to look for it.
