yet another problem : Network Timeout

I always get this error:

The operation timed out when attempting to contact legendphil.net.

when I try accessing my site and cpanel. I don't know if this is account related, something I did or what, but I do need help.

Hey there legendphil,

I was having the same problem and still am but I found a way around it.

What i think is happening, I have trace routed the site and the nodes it passes though to get to the final point and there seems to be a computer down somewhere in Dallas and is no sending back any response, I dont know if its their firewall or what the server is but i know if i use a proxy i can get through.

Let alone every one else i know can access it buy my self. I have been dealing with the proxy for now but that might be your problem that node (server).


Post those details that Corey asked for, and let them get to the bottom of whats wrong.

I still have the problem.. I PM'd Corey my ip sometime ago, and haven't received a reply. I guess he's busy. Is there anyone else who can help me with my problem? at least instructions? or at least the meaning of proxy?...

I'm also helping myself dun worry.. but I'm a noob to connection stuff... I need help.

Hi Phil,

I checked your IP against the firewall and we are not blocking you which is a tad weird since the x10 server that these forums are on is in the same general area. Can you do a tracert to x10hosting.com and see if it is similar to the one you're seeing?

Google free proxy, I'm sure some proxy sites will come up, they are very easy to use.

I don't know what the data below means... no errors either. and I can see the forums more than too well.

I tried to use proxy via google/xhtml and I can see a non-styled version of my site. It's a good step I guess, but without any access to my cPanel it may be hard difficult for me to make revisions or new content (the nearest civilization from my place is two mountains away)

Okay, proxy works fine all around but with ads... other people can view it without ads anyways; then so be it! I have to continue my mission (what?!)... hehe.

Howbout making a proxy server stuff for x10? will that cost much?
