Do I need the iscsiuio service?
Well I have disabled both the iscsi and iscsid daemons using 'chkconfig iscsi off' and 'chkconfig iscsid off'. The iscsiuio process has disappeared and my memory use has dropped by 80-100Mb without any obvious side effects. MySQL, tomcat and httpd (Apache) are still working fine. I'll update if... -

Do I need the iscsiuio service?
I'm trying to save some memory on my S1 VPS package. The 'top' command is listing the iscsiuio process as using 32Mb of memory. After Googling this seems to be a driver for the Broadcom Gigabit Ethernet adapter. Do I need this on my VPS? More specifically, has anyone tried disabling this? -

Best way to install Tomcat on Centos?
I am using Tomcat with the S1 VPS package. There are a few things I would suggest. 1. Use the Sun JDK package rather than Open JDK. This saves about 80Mb of RAM which is useful. 2. You will need to set limits on Tomcat's JVM to stay within the available RAM. Edit the file...
