Thanks for your replies, sorry I've been away for a while. Just tried all your suggestions and just using / seems to work. I won't pretend to understand why! I don't create that many sites so only have to do this sort of thing every few years, by which time I've forgotten what I did last time...

Hi I had a website made on iWeb, which had been removed from x10 due to inactivity, I've just created a new account and want to reupload via FTP, but iWeb is reporting directory/path not found. I have checked and rechecked paths, addresses accounts etc. but can't find a solution. Any ideas?
