I'm really not the right guy for this. I'm not familiar with the available software at all. (I don't like "flat" discussion forums, so I've never investigated any of them. Threads are the only sane way to do discussions. Much the same can be said for the chat scripts I've seen -- I've never looked at the code because they don't do what I want, or, rather, they do far more than they reasonably ought to do in my rather strong opinion.) It really should be just a matter of picking the forum software you want -- one that has an available chat plug-in -- creating a database and user using the cPanel database tool, and following the installation instructions. But I can't help you choose.
