Can't access my website / wordpress from my computer :-0


Can log into X10 Hosting but "An error occurred during a connection to x13.x10hosting.com:2222"

Back on 11 Jul 24 Admin Eric S wrote "...I did see your IP blocked in our firewall which may be the cause of the issue you are seeing."

Thanks for your reply, I have access to my site and WP again

I was editing an html and its' (very simple) javascript, which required my logging out and back into x10 to check if the script was working properly.
Perhaps the frequency or number of logins raised a flag? If so I can move the files to my computer an run it locally in the browser.

Oops, I spoke too soon: The site & WP loaded, but after clicking one link the site failed again with the same traceroute.

By any chance does X10 use Cloudflare and immunify360?
If so, perhaps this could be the problem?

Yes immunify360 is normally the root cause of this which is why I asked if you could confirm steps before you saw the block.

I will review which rule is blocking you and get your domain white listed so this does not block again.

After further investigation here's what I've determined:

(0) Hello World!
(1) My entire website, including Wordpress (WP), works fine
(2) Using WP in *some manner* results in a timeout error for the entire site and x10 Hosting Panel
Examples of "some manner":
- A redirect from my landing page to the WP page
- Logging into WP
- WP login succeeds, but not any subsequent WP action
- WP login and WP navigation / search succeeds, but not opening / editing any post
(3) Log out of x10, and - if possible - log out of WP
(4) After some (undetermined) amount of time, go back to (1)

This "timing" behavior made me suspect (not prove) it might be the Cloudflare caching issue.

But, previously you stated:

I did see your IP blocked in our firewall

Which leads me to wonder how / why the block occurred: Cloudflare? immunify360? Someone flipped a switch? X10? Other?

Note my WP implementation is obsolete, but updating it can't happen if I can't get to it reliably :-(
