I noticed in the manual that mime_content_type is depreciated but it is still supported in PHP ver 5. I am using the function on another site / server which is running PHP Ver 5.2.17. It runs correctly on that site.

UPDATE : I have changed my code to use pathinfo('filename', PATHINFO_EXTENSION) instead of mime_content_type as a workaround. I am not sure if this a very good solution and would still appreciate an update.
