    Suspension

Under the TOS you are still responsible for everything on your site, and a proxy got uploaded. Dreamweaver also doesn't just decide to upload things at random without you having some input on it (such as telling it to upload a folder, and a subfolder has the proxy in it). Awesomexr was correct...

    Unsuitable Infractions?

3 years old. 3. And yeah, that -was- the reason, cause I reported 1 and added "Just look in Computers and Technology, there's a bunch more." Honestly, if he got an infraction, it was indeed warranted. The warning was the last post time being in 2006.

    What happened - Account Suspended?

It's listed as "Spamming do not unsuspend from corey." which means you've actually caught the attention of the admin, so I'm inclined to agree with him at the moment. If you want, we can escalate this to the staff section to try and resolve it, but given that it's Corey who marked it "do not...

    Account suspended upon backup (joomla)

FTP'll work cause that actually doesn't do anything to cause a high resource usage; it just transfers the files. My bet as to why joomla casued it is that joomla was probably trying to compress the files into an archive first - that'll do it. As for the mysql part, you should be able to have...

cant log in to chopin, and site is unavailable

Oh, I gotta mention, Backups are in the TOS as being the sole responsibility of the customer. So while x10 does have the Daily Backups option for folks whose accounts still exist, you're supposed to be taking your own anyways.

Or just browse a bit; both ways make absolutely sure the inactivity system has seen you log back on :)

    Someguy took forum.x10hosting.com

That's true, although lately ones with that in the name are my favorite. Not a single one's been legit so far. Gotta love calling up Hellsheep in IRC and going "hay, got a phisher. Thanks." :)

How much should you pay for a website backup?!

I'm guessing the ones who thought he should've done it free were thinking that -before- it came out that the account wasn't active anymore, cause I was in that group too until you posted part of it where it came up that it had been down for over a year and wasn't an active account anymore. I'm...

    Free doubleing of discspace

What does it say in cpanel? The Info Panel isn't necessarily up to date, and so far no one whose reporting the double being missed is actually missing it, it just hasn't been showing up on the AIP.

How much should you pay for a website backup?!

I'm still thinking $35's reasonable more because the effort involved of digging through the backups to locate the backup in question. I've heard of prices being more, but we're also talking things like HDD recovery or multiple gigabytes of backup data. As for what providers normally charge, no...

    Termination

Once an account has been erased, there is no way to retrieve data. You're still able to make a new account, but you'll have to start from scratch.

    has the server been hacked?

I doubt the entire server's been hacked, but it's possible your site in particular was if there was an easy-to-guess password or anything similar. Regardless I'm escalating this to the support ticket section, just to be safe.

    Pls help

Adding a possibility based on join date: Is it possible you just signed up for the forums, and not actually the hosting account itself?

How much should you pay for a website backup?!

There's a key point here that's changing the whole argument - your account isn't active anymore. That makes a big difference because obviously now you can't do it yourself; he could've charged $1,000 and it'dve been fine because you can't get it yourself anymore. Don't bother trying to dispute...

cant log in to chopin, and site is unavailable

The person who escalated it has no access to the ticket system; they are a community paragon, which gives them moderator privileges, but not Staff abilities such as being able to use the ticket system. Anyone who is a community advocate or higher can escalate though. Dunno about the person who...

Is it possible to upload directly from another website to my server

The paid hosting is more lenient but you still need to be careful: The limits for the High Resource Usage suspensions are higher, but you'll still wanna be careful what you run on there. I've already had incidents where my site was running slow because another user was hogging bandwidth; the...

Is it possible to upload directly from another website to my server

Yah, for small files it'll work and is probably awesome, assuming it doesn't lag and do an HRU :) But at least we're in agreement about the 5gb game file :)

Is it possible to upload directly from another website to my server

<--- that's the part I'm debating here, but also keep in mind that any free hosting script running any length of time will get suspended in a hurry by the HRU system. It won't be able to move 5gb; it might not even get to 50mb before that happens. Not that it matters, casue if it's a mirror...
