    SMART Questions (HDD's)

Main reason I was asking is cause the drive hadn't been accessed within 20 minutes and I had forgotten to disable the "Shutdown harddrives after X minutes" option by accident. Not entirely sure it was actually fully spun up the first time when I heard it spin down >_<

    SMART Questions (HDD's)

So earlier today I heard one of my hdd's cycle down then spin back up; I've since ran some varying apps that do some SMART checking, but I have some questions cause I'm all of a sudden concerned. I originally thought it was my 120gb dying (it apparently says 60% health in one app, however the...

Constantly getting a congratulations page - New User

Put in a support ticket, priority as high as you can go - that's not a standard x10 error page that welcomes new users. Something has gone wrong somewhere and staff need to fix it. Edit: Just adding on, usually theres a page that says Welcome to x10hosting - that page is -not- the same...

Yet another "Remote MySql Access" post.

Ideally this should maybe get moved to Feedback/Suggestions, because I also believe you're right - the real question is whether that particular section in cPanel can be removed/locked/blocked without removing mysql abilities completely. My guess is no, or it'dve probably been done by now.

Feedback: yeah I know this is a "free" service, BUT!

Just popping in to confirm that, haven't had my site down all august (or july, or june, or may, although I had a glitch in april that was my own screwup). That being said, no one's forcing anyone to stick around for the free service - if you don't like it, feel free to pack up and head...

    Have you ever been banned?

For distributing freely available software? :) Cause that's what I got banned for, wanted to see how many folks didn't realize that it was free before I got whomped with the banhammah. On that particular site? It was about 9,600. :) Whoda thunk that pirates HATE IT when you give them free...

    clients.x10hosting.com security certificate?

Only doubt it because Corey tested it in firefox and it works fine; if you read the first paragraph, it's about making a godaddy SSL cert work with Firefox. Plus I dunno where he got the cert from but if it's not from godaddy the whole link's trashed; whatever opera is using, it's doing things...

    Windows XP updates

Reboot nonstop? Weeeeeeird, that sounds like some seriously weird hardware :P @faba: Was close to that many from SP2, I can't remember if 2005 was even XP SP1 let alone 2. It probably did have a few just to get it ready to go to the next servicepack :S

    Windows XP updates

I'm actually surprised you didn't just snag SP3 first - if memory serves SP3 carries a lot of the critical updates with it, and there's a good number of updates that are security updates to stuff like IE6/7, which are promptly replaced with an update that installs IE8 later. Dunno if it works...

There should be one place for help..

http://forums.x10hosting.com/news-announcements/99942-upcoming-free-support-changes.html There's been some ideas coming down the pipe, basically it boils down to making a post on the forums, but if it's not able to be answered by a forum member within X days, bump it to ticket. And theres also...

    Delete my account

Tapped report for ya; I don't think anyone's gunna hold it against you or your hosting company at all though. This is more of a case about the member than the hosting he chose to move to :)

    Is x10 .htaccess Compatible?

Addon: In case you -did- decide to click the option where it says "Remember these settings for next time," head to the bottom of cPanel and click "Reset all Interface Settings" to clear that setting so you can get the popup again :)

    loving the service

Depends; if you like the x10 community, snag the least-expensive paid plan that works for what you need :) I went for Static which was overkill, but I like the community, and whenever something's gone wrong (even if I caused it) the staff've been a pleasure to work with to get it fixed :)

    my account not working

Time needed; your ISP needed time to update it's DNS records so it knew a website actually existed at that url. That can take up to 72 hours, although free services such as OpenDNS tend to do the updates much faster :)

    Apache Tomcat Support?

Also the high-resource usage section - I can all but guarantee your script would get you suspended in a hurry. Simply put, you won't be able to run a game server on the webhosting services - you'd need a VPS for that, and finding a VPS powerful enough might be tricky.

    Very angry "potetial" customer.

You will likely find that in the EULA for said script you have purchased, you must still utilize the LEGITIMATE files. It's like No-CD/DVD cracks for pc games - if you read the EULA, you will probably find that you actually aren't allowed to utilize anything but the original or patched game...

    Very angry "potetial" customer.

Doesn't help; the account being suspended also blocks all FTP and cPanel access, and presumably any cron-job's or anything else because all files are rendered inaccessible. So there's no way to destroy the script once you've already been caught and suspended :) Especially with logs...
