Yeah Adobe really had great student discounts, even though warez is still cheaper. Even after all of these P2P busts, it's really the music industry that cares as much about pirating. You don't hear much about software pirating busts, and you'll always be able to find free music on the internet...

Yeah vBulletin usually appears more professional. PHPBB is lacking some features you're looking for cause you just got off of a vBulletin forum.

Get a PC as long as it comes with the free win7 upgrade. Macs are too expensive for students, and with recent events (Apple is evil), I'd go with PC or Linux. For ease of use (games wise) I'd go with Windows. (Pre-release gaming with Win7) Of course, if you REALLY need iMovie and GarageBand...

Vbulletin is nice because it already has most of the features you need, where in phpbb you need to mod many of them in. On the other hand, modding is fairly simple unless you're trying to do something like change the filenames in an imageset.

This is a tough one. PHPBB has a large mod and style community and is all FREE, but on the other hand, Vbulletin usually just works better. I guess you get what you pay for, but for now my site can live with PHPBB. What do you think?

I only really read through the TOS if either: I'me really really bored, or It's for something that will make me money (ads) or when I'm buying a service

I considered leaving until they finally finished the free server maintenance. Now I'm happy with x10 again! Yay free hosting :biggrin:

I've actually use a couple FTP clients, and I have to say Filezilla was the best. It was easy to manage all of the FTP servers and it was fairly fast. I don't think I would really need anything better than FileZilla.
