Add your new domain using DirectAdmin. Do NOT use a pointer; it won't work. I do not know 100% that you can delete the old one, but I believe you can. At least, this will get your new one working. There may be changes once x10 releases the new backend.

No problem. An admin should help in a day or so. Under this circumstance a restoration is usually possible. As long as you understand that it's kind of a weird situation and backups usually don't exist.
