You could try Smu****! to reduce the size of your images with out reducing quality. It does a great job! Also, I think there is a way to have the browser check the cache for any data that is in it before reloading the entire page. But I'm not sure how though... So, unless someone else here...

A better logo is definately in order. Also, maybe add one more color to you site. So far, you've just got black, white, and red. If you keep the logo red, then you need to add red to another spot on your site. Every color that you use should be used at least twice, though 3-4 is ok too. But only...

How do you want the script to acess the server? http or ftp??? If ftp is fine with you, (generally much faster) then FileZilla is by far the best free program. It will upload/download to/from servers, and it shows you the progress of all transfers in the same window. And, it works on Windows...
