thanks dude for enlighting me about utf8, in fact by default (and i dont know why) the mysql db is configured with some scandinavian language ???). to make it work, two tables have 2 be changed to utf8 : phpbb_lang and phpbb_log (including the fields collation), but i dont exclude problems...
