Only time I've had blue screening at boot up was due to the system running too hot. Extra ventilation and a slightly lowering the cpu clockspeed solved the problem.
As above though - definately check your drivers are up to date.
DRM, it's the reason why I'll be getting the console version. It may cost a little more but at least I can keep my pc free from this rubbish. It's a pity really as I like PC games.
