I'm really glad I came across this thread, because I was going to use Joomla to build my new business site, but now I've seen a few comments on the strengths of Drupal as well. Does anyone know how exactly Drupal allows for social media? I've heard of Ning, which let's you make a social network...

I agree, persistence is a key principle of success. Especially in online business, as I'm learning, you have to stick to your goals and your plans, because it's all to easy to just give up and let it all go because it's not something tangible, but instead something on the "web."

That's the way I look at it. You don't need 100% of your market to do well. You only need 1-5% so why bother trying to get every visitor to buy?
