This is definitely a great list. I want to add my two cents and that is that I never use automatic approval article sites; in my personal opinion it leaves much to be desired with regards to quality in the content of the article.

NEVER spam... It will only bring you nightmares, headaches and a lot of problems. This is a traffic exchange site that like many others do much more than just increase traffic, they help create site branding and product recognition. This is much harder to do with other marketing methods.
