Hoping this is the right place for this topic, posting as suggested on the help page.

I get a 503 error when trying to open http://www.pcsr.x10host.com/forum/ This has, until now, been a highly reliable page and I've never previously had trouble. Any assistance would be gratefully received.

Best,
Keith

Just tried for the first time since posting and all is now working OK. If anyone gets a chance, it would be good to have an idea whether this kind of error tends to self-rectify (or gets picked up in the usual course of things), in which case I don't need to chase it up or report here. Also, it would be good to have an idea how long before service is usually restored (I know that's a slightly '...piece of string' question, so I won't be holding anyone to it), again so I can judge whether any response more than waiting is required.

Many thanks.

Nine times out of ten, it's just server load (lots of accounts, most of which have a sort of "DO ALL THE THINGS!" followed by a couple of months of nothing usage pattern) and will rectify itself relatively quickly. That tenth time is the bit of light cordage whose non-diameter dimension intrigues you but poses a bit of a philosophical quandary.

Thank you for that. So the conclusion is that I just need to be a bit more laid back and give some time to considering philosophies of indeterminate length while the server gets on with doing those mysterious things that servers do (or perhaps I'd be better off, being East of the Big Pond, putting the kettle on for a nice cup of tea). :)

Seriously, thanks for the reply & reassurance.
