550 Prohibited file name

I'm trying to remove a directory from my FTP, and I keep getting the error 550 Prohibited file name.

Account is hadak. Folder I'm trying to remove is public_html/site.

Thanks!

EDIT: I'm just going to move my site root to use the /site folder. Seems easier than trying to delete a file that can't be deleted from FTP.
