A folders contents were deleted and permissions change...

While trying to develope my web site, a folder with all of my email contacts and php mailer was deleted and permissions changed chmod 000. Did I do something wrong? All my email contacts are opt-IN and there is no spam going on (Have over 12,000 email contacts). Am I not allowed to email my subscribers? Please help, I have to email asap.

Is the folder still there? You can change the permissions back..

When it changes to 000 it's done from the mail server, were you e-mailing the contacts when it happened?
