A question about cpanel

I saw that there is a thing called "File manager" in cpanel and there is a thing very nice which i like there.If you click a folder r a file you can add permissions to it .Pls can anyone help me to understand them?There is a box which says:

Mode User Group World

Read

Write

Execute

Permission


And which does what ?Is there a webpage where i can find the various combinations ?And what does each one do?Pls help me.Thank you.

its called chmod. Witch is a Unix command that lets you tell the system how much (or little) access it should permit to a file.
