Domain Name A-Reocrds & DNS Entries?!

Hi support,

I have problem with my domain name and using X10 hosting. I want my domain www.resonantbeats.com to link to my X10 hosted site http://resonantbeats.x10hosting.com.

For my domain I have to enter some details...

A Record/CName/Text entry and domain name servers. What details do I enter in here?

I pinged my X10 domain and entered this as the A record but this did not work. I then changed the Domain Name Serevrs to your own but this now says it is ignoring the A Record entries as they are not my hosts DNS servers.

Any ideas what I put in where? Any help appreciated.

Username: resonant
Domain: http://resonantbeats.x10hosting.com/

Thanks!

Set the name servers to ns1.x10hosting.com & ns2.x10hosting.com, remove the A entry that you made.

After you set the name servers it can take up to 24 hours for the change to go into affect.

So i should just have a CNAME entry and the name servers?

no CNAME, just the name servers.

Your A entry or CNAME could have started working. There are multiple ways to do it but having the name servers set and no A\CNAME records is the best way.

I think i have worked it out. Do i have to add www.resonantbeats.com to the 'Add-On Domains' as since then it seems to have started working, although it is not going to the right page, I think that is because I was mucking around with the A-Records and they do not change till 9:30AM tomorrow...

Yes, you'd have to either add the domain as a parked OR add-on domain.

Great thanks for your help!
1 more thing... this seems to act as a redirect taking me to resonantbeats.x10hosting.com rather than staying as resonantbeats.com.

is there any way I can get it to stay as my orignal domain name?

For me it stays at resonantbeats.com, but you have not changed the index page. Showing the default one.
