access using ip address

Hey people,

Just wondering if the stoli server ip is static if so is it possible to access you site using just the ip? i.e:

http://74.86.133.216/~username/

Just im having trouble with a user in france resolving the domain.

I don't know how you'd be able to use the server IP address to connect to a site unless you have a dedicated server or your site is the primary site on the server. Have your user in France use a web based proxy until the issue resolves or until someone chimes in.

Thanks for the reply, i know its possible to access using the servers ip address as each site has a dedicated folder on that server and is normally accessible using something like http://SERVERIP/USERFOLDER

At least this is how it has worked on any apache server i have setup.

I guess the question i am asking what is what is the path to the users folder?

i.e. \home\users\n\nerrad

Are there any admins that no this path?

Thanks for the idea about a webproxy i will let them know this is an option.
