I registered a free account ( http://gpaul.x10hosting.com ), receiving confirmation emails as follows:

email 1: Action required to Activate Membership for x10Hosting Forums
I clicked the link to confirm registration - all OK.
email 2: x10Hosting - Ad-Free Hosting Account Confirmation
Clicked the link to confirm signup and email address - all OK.
email 3: Welcome to x10Hosting Forums!
This was just a notification email. No action required.
email 4: x10Hosting - Ad-Free Hosting Account Status
This email is being sent to notify you that the hosting account that you have signed up for has not been created, due to an error which occurred during the creation process.
The error that occurred was:

Current status -
I CAN -
  • login to the X10hosting site using my account username and password
  • view my account details at http://x10hosting.com/account
  • login to the server using FTP with my username and password
  • can see a default page (index.html) on the server, containing a message " Welcome to your new x10Hosting.com hosting account."
I CANNOT -
  • login to cPanel using the supplied URL with my username and password
  • view my default page (index.html) using a browser at the url http://gpaul.x10hosting.com. The page that gets displayed says the domain http://gpaul.x10hosting.com is still available. However, if I attempt to re-register the domain, I find it is already in use.
Please help.

I just checked your URL and it is showing the welcome to your new website. It says to replace the current index.html with your new one. So i am not sure where you are having troubles. Also make sure you are using proper user name and password to login to cpanel.

Also sometimes it takes a few minutes for the account to actually be activated . So by seeing what i saw you should be able to access your cpanel. :)

Chris73, thanks for the reply.

I didn't attempt to change anything after my orginal post, but I just checked again and all is now working - default page and cPanel login. I can't explain what changed, but I'm now :)
