I'm still waiting patiently (now the remaining problems with Starka have been resolved for about 15 hours and I've been waiting in total for just under 36 hours) for my account to be created, so thought to raise a ticket in case my problem is more unique than I thought.

The message I'm receiving (at 8:45am GMT on Monday 21st Sept) is:

Hi,
Due to the Apache issue that recently faced Starka, we had to shut down the queue on this server. After the issue was fixed, we turned it on again. It's now catching with all the queue actions, but they are many.
Please be patient, your account will be created on the following hours.
