We get a lot of new signups for free hosting every day (I think someone said over 1000 a day at some point, but I don't remember if that was accurate or not). In order to cut down on the costs of hosting that many accounts, especially when a high percentage of users simply stop using their account but leave the files there to take up space on our servers, we implemented an activity policy for free hosting. This way the users who do not care about their accounts anymore will have them automatically deleted to free up space for users that are actually using their accounts for legitimate reasons.
We do not enforce this restriction if you purchase a
prime membership or illuminated hosting, or if you transfer to a premium or vps plan, as it's expected that if you're a paying customer, then you're probably using your account for something
