Account terminated

I set up an account earlier this year, intending to teach myself PHP. Never got around to it, but now I find that the site no longer exists. When I try to log in, my ID is accepted, but it says I need to link my forum account with my site account, but it won't accept my site name. I'm certain that it was deleted for lack of use, but when I tried to sign up for a new one, it said "you already have an account, use it." How should I proceed?
