I went here:
http://conor-omuiri.com/adtut/tutorials/tut1.htm
and it starts out well:
I came up with an easy solution for all the problems with the adcodes. An easier way to set it up. And if any changes are made to the code, they can be done to one file and change it for everyone. For the static package, use this code
but where are the codes to use?

Jim at least gives the solutions here:
http://www.x10hosting.com/showpost.php?p=5032&postcount=1

Don't copyright Jim's content to yourself.

Oops. I forgot to upload that page to overwrite the existing one. Should all be fixed now.

The copyright says x10Hosting.com and myself and it also gives credit to the author at the top of the content box.

CaRBon: You must use our ads and not modify them.

ooo ok then

Yeah... just a little more detail. No modifying in ANY way, this includes changing the CODE, resizing the ad, changed the ad image in any way, etc.

You can use the Google Ads, but you have to have your site previewed with the normal ads first by a moderator or administrator. Obviously with Google Ads you can modify the color, etc.

I don't mind. :/

Oh really? Are you sure? Bill Gates once worked for Steven Jobs and he once worked for IBM; he used copyright to catapult himself into a quasi-monopoly (and in the early days, nobody minded).

Anyway, Conor gives you credit at the very top of the web page where your work is displayed:
Tutorial 1 - By Jim
Conor's credit clearly identifies you as the author, Jim, so that is good in this regard.

Here's an interesting article to read (written by a lawyer) about collaborative negotiation. If you continue to be a primary/major source of technical solutions either here or anywhere, you might want to read this short article as food for thought:
IN BED TOGETHER: THE PROBLEMS OF COLLABORATION

Seeing as there are many more problems, I am going to add some more stuff onto the site.

dark: It appears to work the way it is now.

Instead of creating a separate site, the collection of ad tutorials should really all be contained within one post as a sticky within the x10Hosting forum.

This might sound like a lot of work but maybe we could get a team togeather

and do one of two things:

1. We create modified versions of popular programs like phpbb etc.. and people can download the from the site
or
2. The team goes in and add the ads to a site

Its just and idea I had

Creating derivative programs could possibly create copyright conflicts.

Some members have sites with hundreds of pages; it would be time consuming for the Mods to go in and place the ads -- in addition there will be the problem of members complaining, "Your placement messed up my style :frown: boo hoo hoo hoo hoo."

Can written rules be made for each type of advertisement in each type of format users use and placed as stickies in the support and/or tutorial sections?

Or, perhaps x10Hosting should follow the Tripod/Geocities automatic approach? :teeth_smi

i would like to suggest a compilations of all the common FAQs in one single thread like adding ads, whatever tutorials, common problems/solutions posted around the forums etc ( i may start one next week after i finish a couple of things  ) instead of having the x10hosting staffs add ads for those who have problems with it. It is good to learn to solve any problems by yourselves with a well written tutorials as a guide. It would really improve your knowledge and give confidence to yourselves
