Ad placing help needed.

Good day all.

As you probably figure with the topic and little note I am a bit of a noob with all this and would as such require some assistance for me to be able to place my last coupple of ads.

I created my PHPbb board through the convenient button placed in the Controll Panel. Thus it is version 2.0.15 though that shouldn't have anything to do with the 'problem' I've got.

After having installed it that way I headed over to my newly created forum and expected to be able to edit the appearance of it and as such be able to add the adds needed. However having only had experiense with Proboards forums in the past I foolishly expected this to be just as easy and user friendly, however I have not even found the ability to change those things in.

Having then looked through everything I could think of I am a bit stumped as to what to do. Could someone here please explain to me how I should add the ads to a regular PHPbb forum? I'd be quite grateful then :3.

I succeded in creating a fairly simple workaround for myself by using frames. Making a top frame that one now contains the required ad. Sure it won't win any beauty contests but it works. You can check it here if interested, heh. http://afg.x10hosting.com/

If anyone can explain further on how to make it look better though then I'd gladly take any advice you can give :3.

1. log into Cpanel..
2. go to file manager..
3. go to public_html folder...
4. If installin root folder go to 6 if not go to 5
5. Go to your PHPBB forum folder...
6. go to your templates folder...
7. then go to the subsilver..
8. now go to overall_header.tpl .. Placing the ad depends on your template...
9. then edit the file...
10. save the file

Thanks for the help!
Unfortunatley though I only have experiense with baisc HTML and not PHP so I don't know where to place the code...
I'm in the overall_header.tpl file but unfortunatly there is a lot of info there, and I don't know where to place the code among everything! (See, I am a noob :p)

Being afraid to screw things up I thus want to hear if anyone, perhaps you again, can help me where to place it?

If needed I can post the whole code segment, heh.
Thanks in advance!

Just place the ad code at the top of everything in the overall_header.tpl. Remember at the top.

At the very top? Alright, thanks. I'll try that out :3.
