So, since this problem seems to be happening to a few people, I thought I'd make a thread about it so that the admins can see exactly what's going on with addon domains on fris. To make things easier, I'll illustrate the issue with screenshots.

First, this screenshot shows my account on fris, with 0/3 addon domains:

This second screenshot shows me adding a new fictional .co.cc domain along with a notice confirming I have 0 current addon domains.

When I submit, I am presented with a success message (and the directory does indeed appear in the file manager). Had I actually registered this .co.cc domain, it would likely work as expected.

However, when I click the "Go Back" link, this addon domain does not appear

This is further illustrated in the cPanel home page, where it shows the new FTP account, but Addon Domains is still 0/3

Therefore, two problems exist with this:
  • While it is possible to create new addon domains that work, they cannot be deleted or edited from the main cPanel interface (although I believe they show up correctly in JM and WHM, but I don't have access to either to confirm this)
  • It is likely possible for a user to have an infinite number of addon domains via this glitch if they simply delete the associated FTP accounts

If this could be fixed on fris ASAP, it would create a lot less headaches for people trying to use this feature. I haven't tested this with parked domains, but it is possible they also suffer from this issue.

This is probably to do with the servers not updating quick enough. If it is a glitch and people do add more than 3 or 5 than the server will probably delete them afterwards or administration will.
