Alright.

I have 2 domains.
One domain is technosoftnet.com, and it is a "parked domain", and upon load, it goes to the main directory in my account.
I want to have my other domain, lets call it "otherdomain.com", to go to a sub-directory in my account.

How would I go about doing this? A step-by-step tut would be nice, not just a "addon domains" respones. I've tried addon domains, and they dont work like I want them ot. It says it can't find some PHP file.

the last bit is underlines for some reason, as well as this. lol w/e

please help,
roach6390

Well an addon domain is the easiest way to do what you want. You want a domain pointed to a subdomain on your account. Is there any other reason why you don't like using the addon domain besides it "can't find some PHP file". Maybe if you explained that more I could help.

AHHH it works now, but ONE PROBLEM.

When it redirects, it changes the 2nd domain to the sub-domain adress...

I've heard many people have that problem but it doesn't do it on my addon domain. Are you running a forums board or CMS that might be changing the address?

alright, its not the forum software... because i upload a txt file into the subdir, and do the 2nd domain + the txt file, and it still just re-roots to the sub dir and not the file... :dunno:

How about the .htaccess file? Check in that and see if there is anything that might be forwarding it. Besides that I'm out of ideas. Like I said before I have a addon domain setup as well and have never had this "problem" even with my old host.

I checked the .htacess file... and actually deleted it... the one in the subdir folder.

but... it's wreird. i deleted the addon domain, but it STILL reditrects from the domain to the subdomain... i was just gonna have both domains parked, have php check the address, and if it was the 2nd domain, have it go to the new sub dir...

argh hold on, it does that in firefox but not ie................

I just tested it with a new sub dir that didnt have a forum, and it's a simple problem. It changes the addressbar text. How do i fix it??

I just want like "newdomain.com/index.php". that file is really "olddomain.com/subdir/index.php", but when i go to "newdomain.com/index.php" the text changes to "olddomain.com/subdir/index.php".

Setup the domain as an addon domain using a new subdomain so you don't have any files that might be causing the forwarding. Then put a simple HTML file and test to see if it forwards you to the subdomain. I'm trying to figure out if a PHP script is causing the domain to forward into the subdomain's address or if it is some random occurance.

argh hold on, it does that in firefox but not ie................
I don't think Firefox can tell if a domain is setup under a subdomain.
