Advance Flash Shape Tween

let's say I want to tween a rectangle into an "L"

like it first extends out, then makes a 90 degrees turn, and extends out again..when I do it it like does this crazy morph

more detailed explanation would be nice,

but, from what i read: do the tween in more frames or slow your fps down
