They tend to alternate. Sometimes AMD has the best value, sometimes Intel does. For now, I would have to go with Intel.

I go with Intel. Their Quad Cores are crazy, especially the Core 2 Dou Extreme type.

The Q6600 is awesome, and I have that chip on my gaming computer. It's taken everything I've thrown at it and even when I do manage to max it the system still runs as if nothing was running.

i'd go with with intel just because of the Q6660, it overclocks really well. But 5 years ago it had to be AMD with their Athlon series

Intel Core 2 Extreme is the only way to go :) Actually intel has been doing really good on the dual core and quad core processor lines. I used to not like them but it really changed my view. I love my new intel processor, wouldn't trade it for a AMD!

AMD has fallen behind, far far behind.

I've had the Q6600 for over 3 years, I upgraded to the E8400 and the QX9650 a few months back. AMD doesn't even have a 65 nanometer dual core chip yet, so it's not really fair to compare the X2 6400+ to the E8400.

I did love the 939 Toledo tho... especially the FX-60, still have mine in my dad's garage. I bet if I dusted it off, threw two 9800 GX2's in there and it'll be able to run again, hah :D

Certain AMD can be very powerful. AMD are gaming type.

Intel(R) are very popular, and have created alot of processors and most of their latest ones are better than AMD. I'd chose Intel(R).

Sometimes AMD has the best value, sometimes Intel has the better deal. However, for quality it's Intel all the way. It's too bad quality is so expensive.
