I don't want my files to be leeched. So I enabled the Hotlink security feature from the cPanel. This is protecting my files when the files are hotlinked from other websites. But the files can still be downloaded using download managers. And I don't want this. Can anybody suggest me an easy way? Thanks.

Easy? No.

The tough way would be to create a symlink each time the file is requested, and clear that file off after a predetermined time limit (say 6 hours or so). That way hotlinking loses its effectiveness. You'll probably have to set an hourly crontab to implement this though.

What kind of files are we talking about here?
Because music could be played with flash players.
Images be displayed using a php file etc.

since .zip and .exe files can not be used on a browser; why not put them into a directory and password protect that directory thru the cPanel?

A really nice blog. And a great tutorial. I'll try it later. Meanwhile I'll wait for other solutions. Thanks Slothie.
