Any firewall blocking connections to remote servers?

Hi,

I am trying to connect to an API (port 8080) in a remote server from my 10xhosting free wordpress, but I am allways getting timeout errors. I can access to the same remote server API from other servers, so I suppose that this is a limitation on the free accounts. Can anybody confirm that?.

You pretty much have ports 80 and 443 (client) and 2083 (to cpanel) to work with apart from local files, local database connections and local mail. Everything else is closed and will not be opened
