Are Computers Controlling Us?

Well this has been asked by many people and they all came with the answers that stun the entire world. It was yes, computers do control humans in a very smart way. Imagine you have a lot of letters to type, e-mails to send, people to chat with and all of sudden your computer breaks. Now you can’t type the letters, send the e-mails or chat with the people. At this moment the computer is controlling you.

Is there a way to stop this?

There can’t be a correct answer to this because it depends how much you are attached with your computer. For example if you are not completely attached with your computer you may write the letters by hand, send the e-mails by post and go to your friends houses to chat with. We always get in to this problem because of the words “Efficiency” and “Speed”. Well there is always a way to stop the computer from controlling you, to do this you will have to pay the computer (Fix it) or some times pay to buy a new computer for backup. Even at this point we are been controlled by are own computer.

Future

This is very easy to tell because ones all the people in the world become more attached with there computers people might try to make an A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) and this will be the end of the human race because as A.I.’s become smarter (Just like computers did) they would definitely control the human kind. So as you see by improving computers we are just signing a contract with computers that would stop the human race for ever. May be this is why a A.I’s is hard to make and cost a fortune. May be that’s why god is stopping us from doing it, because he knows what will happen to us.

ummm.... wow... For one, I love my computer, but recently it crashed, and was out for around 2 weeks, I missed emailing, makin movies, and stuff like that, but I got used to it, and quite frankly, enjoyed not being on the computer. I think, if people just have a little control, it goes a long way.

Congratulations you are 14, you wrote an editorial, now I'm going to write mine.

I really do not believe that there is a god - in fact I am convinced that there is not a god (a subtle difference). I see not a shred of evidence to suggest that there is one. A.I. is a so-so experiment at this time. We see A.I. in EVERY game, does that mean it's expensive? No. Are computers controlling us? No. They're addictive like crack cocaine on Saturday. (Not that I know...) But they are addictive, the internet attracts many users, but the prosperity of an endless amount of knowledge attracts them too. Not to mention those "gamers". Before you write a little editorial about a God and his supposed care over a blue-green ape infested planet in the western arm of a spiral galaxy, do some research about BOTH A.I. and human addiction.

Kind as always,

Yes I know I just worte about god because some people belive IT. Not that I belive hem. I have a very good reson for it www.csoft.x10hosting.com/help_me.htm read it and you will see. I disagree on A.Is because I know what will happen. I am also a game programmer but A.Is that we desing are not smart at all because they emitate on are commands NOT THERE OWN. So thats why they are not very expencive to make. But Smart a A.I that compute and behave and react to random setuvations and be alart just like us is very hard. I game A.I uses a lot of processing power but just think a avanced A.I will take a processor of a very large magnitude. And this = A lot of Money

I would like to point a few things out, your spelling is pathetic, you pretend to know what will happen and there is a such a thing as donars and funding. If they want A.I. they will have it. Nothing that you preach is valid in the form that it is presented. A processor of very large magnitude? When do AMDs cause earthquakes? How about frequency, and no it wouldn't. If you coded the game correctly to do an equal share of RAM, proccessor and video load then it wouldn't. Once again, A.I.s taking lots of resources and cash? Let me point at you a few, Painkiller, very excellent A.I. who can predict what you're doing. SWAT 4, once again, randomly spawned, always moving, always fighting. Those games don't cost 100 dollars to buy, and they didn't cost plenty of money to make.

Ofcourse computers are controlling us. Maybe I should put it this way " We are letting computers to control us". I am going to US to do MS in physics next week and as far as i know they will not be providing me with 24 hours computer. I don't know how am i going to live there......!!!!

I think the whole AI thing is just a load of rubbish, computers only do things they are told to do, so unless you sit there and write a instruction for everey single possibility a AI is never going to "invade" the human race.
