I've seen the postings about mysql being repaired or restored from backups, or whatever Corey is doing to get it working again.

I just wanted some reassurance that the databases are still there, as when I log in to cpanel, it says i've got 0 out of 3 databases, and since my site uses it's database to store the actual info for the site, it worries me that the data could be gone, and i'll have to start the site again, which I don't want to have to do.

Edit: it's back now, and i'm pleased to say that no data appears to have been lost

As the databases are continued to be worked on you will see incorrect information on those fields. Corey most likely took a SQL backup and pretty much wiped SQL and is rebuilding it. Once SQL is back up everything should start running at the normal again. Don't be worried and if you are that means you are not going once a week, month, day etc and taking SQL backup's. Always backup you're website. Number one rule of web hosting.

Please continue to look for updates in the following posting:

It's not so much the data that matters (although that is a major part of the site), it's mainly the hassle of having to reinstall the script that my site runs on if the data has been lost.

The problem with doing backups myself, is that i'm on limited bandwidth (20GB a month), and things I have running on my home connection pretty much use that whole 20GB each month, and it's a bit of a hassle doing sql backups.

Being a quote database, my site stores all the submissions, accepted quotes, administrators, moderators, even just info the site needs to bring up the front page.

Anyway, as you say, Corey probably has backups anyway. From what i've seen so far, he is very good at what he does, and i'm sure he probably took backups before doing the reboot last night. I hope anyway.

Edit: that was nice timing. Just tried the site again, and it's giving a different sql error now, and cpanel now shows 2/3 databases used, which is what it should be, so I guess it's just the users to be restored now.
