I have a forum and i was wondering if you are allowed to have these things:

Movies Board - Content Not hosted on the server

Music Board - Provids links to places like www.sma****s.com , www.raaga.com - not hosted on server

Tv show board - shows not hosted on server just provides links

» Illegal Material : This includes copyrighted works, commercial audio, video, or music files, and any material in violation of any Federal, State or Local regulation. You may not store copyrighted Mp3s on your webspace in any way shape or form.

I would take that as a no unless all the content you link to is not copyrighted.

As for links, I beleive they are also not allowed.

Also includes any sites which provide "links to" or "how to" information about such material.

ok, let me make this clear:

On my forum, i want to have a movies board, in which my users will post posts which contains link or embed code of the movie/video etc.

If thats ok

It should be fine, as long as the stuff they link to is not violating copyright laws.

Do NOT rely on Veoh or Youtube or any video service to remove copyrighted content for you. Do it yourself - make a point of browsing the forums more than once a day to clean out the spam and illegal content, because if a mod/admin sees it, you WILL get suspended, and they WON'T let it slide. If the suspended accounts forum wasn't now marked private I'd go and pull up several links from users who tried to get it to slide (and many who challenged their suspensions) just to lose or get more time on the suspension.

You and you alone are responsible for the content your users post. If you can't keep your users in line, don't run a forum.

Let me make this clear. On your site you cannot host any movies, music etc unless they are your own creations. You are allowed to hold discussions on them. And as for the linking, you can link them to other sites provided that the other sites are perfectly legal. If you don't know the legality of the other site don't link to them. Here's one example: The movie Die Hard 4 is copyrighted, so you are not allowed to either host the movie on your site or link to a site where it is provided free of cost.

and about music, are allowed to have it on your site for people to listen to, but not for download.

ONLY if those discussions don't involve any links to the movies/mp3s that are copyrighted. Just general discussion, yes.

And as for the listening to, NO, not unless you own the copyright or have written permission! Or, of course, if the content is under a Creative Commons license and you follow the terms.

last question, are you allowed to give download links to Free/trial/demo software/games downloads like Veoh Tv etc. Only free software, trial software or demo software.
