Can access site only through proxy

Hi there,

Firstly I would like to thank you for the wonderful service you provide to us free of charge. Its greatly appreciated.

My site is : http://reignofchaos.x10hosting.com/

The problem I am experiencing is that im unable to connect to my server at all through ftp or browsing. However, the site does work when I access it through a proxy. I find this very strange. I have read the sticky on the server upgrading, but somehow the fact I can access through a proxy seems very sus.


If you could respond I would be ever so greatful!

Works fine here.
Are you sure, you're directly connected to the web and don't 'have to' use the proxy?
Do a 'tracert ftp.reignofchaos.x10hosting.com' in your cmd line and see, if the proxy comes up.
If yes, then it seems you're forced to use the proxy for HTTP and FTP.

Here are my results:

Unable to resolve target system name ftp.reignofchaos.x10hosting.com.

About 10 of my friends are experiencing similar problems, and another 20 say they can access it fine..

Hope there is a fix for this, and if possibe, could you please link it to me. Search function has failed me.

I'm from New Zealand. I've read a topic of someone with a similar experience, and he was advised to PM "Corey" with his IP, so I have done the same, thoroughly explaining my predicament. Hope this can be resolved soon =]

Yes Sir i have same problem and contacted Corey yesterday but nothing til now.
Stoli is blocking 3 countries NZ, india and Tunisia and maybe other countries. Please can you fix this issue.
I had my site down for 4 days since the servers transfer.

Are you on stoli or other ad free plan??

For me it's the stoli server that is blocking people who want to connect from tunisia. Hope that ione of the servers managers will correct this problem.

Tyronne, I added your IP range to the allow list, it takes 30 minutes to update. Please post back later today if you still have trouble accessing it.

People from australia can no longer access it either. Does anyone know a ftp program I can use which is through a proxy?

All the firewall changes should have went into affect now. Are you still having issues accessing it?

I think I am having the same problem, are there any ideas what I could to to try solve this or what might be causing this? I am in Australia, if that helps--since someone mentioned the countries being blocked...

I can access the site through an anonymous web proxy like http://www.the-cloak.com, and I can check email via a service like http://www.mail2web.com, but I cannot access it from my machine directly.

I seem to be having a similar problem today, i.e. can access my website via proxy but not directly.
I am in England.

Domain: sip.x10Hosting.com
Hosting Package: Adfree
Server Name: cossacks


I also discovered that I can access other members pages fine, e.g. olavi.x10hosting.com works fine.
Also I can access my cPanel via olavi.x10hosting.com:2082 and entering my own Username and Password.

I've tried a flushdns too but that didn't help.
Can someone help me please?

I think this only happens to the person who owns the website, so i can see other peoples websites, but they cant see their own

If you can login to your cPanel then the server is not blocking you. It would block all connections not just HTTP. Try clearing your temp files, flushing your DNS, etc..
