is there a way to upgrade my account without doing all the whm crap? can i just paypal corey some money for burgers to upgrade my hosting?

Probably not.
Depending what package you are on now and what you want to go to ... may require you to move to one of the other servers.
And the paid hosting is on its own server, so if you went to that, it would require WHM work.
Although, sending Corey some money for burgers may just make him happy anyway.
