Hi,

I was wondering if it's acceptable to set up an x10 email account to create a mailing list with Mailchimp? Otherwise should I use an external email account like Gmail or mail.com?

I'm planning to launch a website (in beta with the cu.cc domain) soon, and I have set up a mailing list with Mailchimp so visitors to my site can subscribe if they want, then I can send emails to the subscribers regarding updates to my web site, and free offers.

MailChimp is an email marketing service that will not use your x10hosting's free-hosting Email account

It doesn require an associated email address, though. The problem seems to be with domain confirmation. Using MailChimp is fine; getting it to work might be another matter entirely. The (inbound) spam filters here are pretty aggressive, and staff may have to look at rules to allow domain confirmation.

OK, sure, but what I meant to say was when sending out a campaign, can I use the x10 email account I just created in the "from email address" to send emails to subscribers? I know sending emails will use the MailChimp servers, but is it ok?

It shouldn't be a problem. MailChimp has its own pretty tight spam/content standards, and there's no x10Hosting involvement at all unless you manage to wind up on spam lists. Just make absolutely sure that everybody on your list opted into being on the list and that unsubscribing is easy.
