For some reason i cant get ftp to work using Filezilla, ?? ive used that program many times on other Cpanel's with no issue at all, but here, is what i get.

1. I created a ftp username and password using that function, and then downloaded the configuration file to my desktop.

2. Per Filezilla, i imported that config file into its panel, added the files i wanted to upload to the public html section, and chose the server upload info provided via that config file, hit upload and the server would not connect or allow the upload.

Im stumped ?? :(

I would setup FileZilla for your account's FTP first - then try a added FTP account....

The FTP details you need for FileZilla or other FTP client:
Host: (your account's primary (main) domain) or (your server's IP) - Port: 21

Protocl: FTP - File Transfer Protocol

Encryption: Use plain FTP

Logon Type: Normal

User: (your cPanel user name)

Password: (your cPanel password)

The account FTP thats already setup wont work that way for me. Just tried it as you described. and neither will one i setup myself.
Im thinking the configuration file that comes with the pre- loaded or supplied ftp account when downloaded and imported into filezilla should automatically hook up,
can i get some Admin input here please ??

The account you setup will have a user in the form user@domain.x10.mx, you need to use the full username including @domain.x10.mx.
In determining what actually goes wrong it would be very helpful if you pasted the full error you get in your ftp client when trying to connect.

After importing the file that is generated by the ftp client on the CPanel, into filezilla exactly per the directions, the client tries to connect but is refused.

What address is the generated file suggesting that you should connect on? Does it refuse before asking for credentials?

I would just forget importing and create from scratch. I used these settings:
View: Quickconnect Bar

File: Site Manager (or Ctrl+S):

Thanx Xweb, thats the answer i was looking for. You should be an admin here. Good, understandable, to the point answers, and even with road maps. :)
