You can have a domain as an add-on and one as your main one if you wanted.

no i mean, once the main domain expires, can we switch the add on domain into the place of the main one?

and what access/features do we get if we are an add on domain?

thanks :)

Your main domain? You mean the sub-domain you get from x10? It never expires.
But yes, I guess you could move it from the add-on to main domain at anytime.

An Add-on is just a directory in your hosting ... There really isn't much you "get" with it. Its like having a separate hosting account within your hosting account. ( You can set up an e-mail address, have a CMS, etc )

thanks
i mean domains as in WWW.SITENAME.COM
2 of those...

Yes. I would think you could. Would just take a little work. Because you would have to have the files that are in the directory that was made for the add-on to be moved to the root when you moved it to be your main domain. Otherwise, it is possible.

Fahimtm - Not really. I have 4 domain names I use on one account.

@Fahimtm: none of them are being temperary since the older one expires and I wanted to get a new one rather than renew it...

@Starshine: Thanks but would the path be different for the add on and main domain, apart from the site name being different will there be any other difference in the path since all my pages will have php includes and i can't go around changing each path include url on every page lol...

If you use relative paths you won't have to change them even if you move the site as long as the directory structure stays the same.

Add-on domains are based so their 'home folder' is in a separate folder in your public_html. If I had corey.staff.x10hosting.com, I would have a corey folder in my public_html and that would be the home dir for corey.staff.x10hosting.com
