Hey everyone! I need some hel here.... See, my computer (exL 192.168.0.7) is connected via wireless, and my family computer is directly connected to the modem (ex: 192.168.0.5), and it happens to have the printer on it. Unfortunately, We are connected through a DSL modem, and I don't have access to the printer, which is why I need help.

Basicaly, 192.168.0.7 needs to connect through the modem to 192.168.0.5 and print something on that computer.... I see it done at school, so I know it is possible..... How can it be done?

assuming this is the case, in windows xp (i assume u are using zp) you should be able to go into the cp and search networked hardware, the printer should show up

The printer is connected to the family computer, which is connected to the router, however, I could connect the printer directly to the router...

This is fairly easy if you have XP. And the printer does not need to be hooked up directly through the router. All you have to do is enable network printer and file sharing and create a network on all your computers. Start>>control panel>>Netowrk and Internet connections>>Network setup wizard

Complete this on all the comptuers in your home. Make sure the Workgroup name is the same on all computers. the default is MSHOME and thats what I use.

You must also for some printers have the drivers of the printer installed on the computers you want to use the printer from. In the installation there should be a spot to pick if you want the printer to be local or network. On the computers that Dont have the printer hooked up physically to it you choose network.

EDIT: My girlfriend has an Hp 1210 all-in-one printer. My computer is hooked up to a network with hers so we can share the internet. In order for the printer to work on my computer I have to have drivers installed, then all I do is turn on the printer and and press print.
